Some kinds words from last year's Ohana . . .
Hiya.
I met you last year in upstate New York at last summer's OHANA. I was playing in the Friday night band and heard you DJ in your hotel room when you had your turn at hosting drinks.
I had a card you gave me and looked up DJ Doe and found an online flyer. That's how I got your email.
I just wanted to compliment you on your amazing taste in music. I stayed hanging out listening to you DJ long after my drink was finished. I was frantically writing down and shazamming your set list as it was all so amazing... Every song was perfect. The cool change in styles, the wild deep cuts, the slick cross-fades and segues...
You have my favorite taste in music ever!!
So I was wondering if you have any online presence of your music taste, like a YouTube channel or something...
Or could I ask you to send me a list any of your favorite tracks you've been mixing into your sets recently.
I live in Boston and can't easily make it to NY for any shows you do. And I'm not sure if i'll be at OHANA this year... Oh no.
But I HAVE to hear you DJ again some time, or at the least, check out some things you've been listening to...
I promise that I'm not a DJ trying to steal your cool tunes. I am just a drummer. But I love making iTunes playlists and would love to hear more of the music you like. (I already have a small playlist that I based off of your drink hosting set from last year)... But I need more!!!
It's not that I don't have enough music. I have about 15,000 songs in my iTunes library. And a pretty good vinyl collection (though I sadly have gone mostly digital lately for the ease of it)
It's just that I absolutely *LOVED* all the stuff you played and want to hear what else you might have up your sleeve!!
If you don't have any playlists out there in the world, could I trade you for a mix? We could trade off CD playlists or something...
